For attending a host resorts presentation, you could receive
an inexpensive mini-vacation, cruise, free accommodations,
dinner or show tickets. All that's required is that you
attend the hosts sales presentation.
It's no secret that the Timeshare ( Vacation Ownership ) and
private Campground Membership industry has had a reputation
for using high pressure sales tactics to sell their product.
In most cases, due to consumer protection laws, these companies
have stopped this practice.
However, consumer protection laws are not the only reason resorts
have changed their sales policies. The biggest reason is common
sense.
We live in a very consumer educated age and we can research
just about anything we wish before we decide to purchase a product
or service. This site is a good example.
Private resorts are aware of this and realize that high pressure
sales tactics simply won't work with today's educated consumer
and have adjusted their sales strategy accordingly.
The Process
The average length of time involved in a presentation
is 90 minutes (varies from resort to resort) and goes something
like this:
Meet your resort representative.
Discuss your vacation and recreational interests.
Learn about the resort and affiliated network.
Tour the resort facilities.
Have any of your questions answered.
You will be asked if you wish to become an owner or member.
Lastly, regardless of your decision, you would be awarded
whatever promotional incentive you were offered for attending
the presentation.
OK, lets talk about number six... I can already here some saying, "I thought there
was no obligation to purchase! ". There isn't.
Resorts usually offer a couple of options. One that can be
purchased anytime you like, and a promotional offer available
while you're visiting the resort or during another predetermined
time frame.
If (and only if) you find you have some interest in the resort
and their service, hear them out. You might be surprised at
what they have to offer! Again, there is No Obligation to Purchase!
The choice is, of course, entirely up to you.
